Ikaslan Bizkaia is travelling to Valencia to share good practice in adult education and training with the rest of the participants in the PRALINE project: Promoting Adult Learning in Networks.
On 7 and 8 October, Valencia’s Association of Vocational Education and Training Centres (FP Empresa) welcomes the PRALINE working group. The project partners will exchange knowledge of different initiatives that are being implemented in the Valencia Autonomous Region, the Basque Country and Croatia related to improving employability, promoting entrepreneurship and a spirit of innovation among VET students, as well as lifelong learning for adults.
On the 7th, Robert Crespo, a technical education advisor at the Valencian Generalitat’s department of Vocational Education and Training, will talk about the action strategies being implemented by the Valencian Government to boost employment opportunities for VET students. Later, Santiago Rodrigo, a trainer at CIFP Mislata training centre, will present the business project that students there are undertaking as part of their training.
On the second day, Sandro De Gregorio will lay out the project on inclusive ICT training applied to the real needs of businesses located in disadvantaged areas, which was chosen last year as part of the “Challenges 2020” call for innovative education projects.
Thereafter, Alba Estanyol will explain the work being carried out in the Basque Country to promote adult learning. Cooperation for innovation will be another of the topics that Alba covers, presenting the Tknika model of a VET applied research centre. The Ikaslan Bizkaia coordinator will close her session by presenting the LaborLan project, which was collaboratively developed by private businesses, public bodies and Basque VET centres.
Finally, Tihomir Žiljak, assistant professor at the University of Zagreb and vice-president of the Croatian Andragogy Society, will bring this international event to a close by sharing the Croatian policy for promoting adult learning as a part of lifelong learning.
Valencia will mark the first in-person meeting the PRALINE team has held after the project was launched in January of this year.
