Members of the initiative, coordinated by Ikaslan Bizkaia, came together on February 23 in Athens at the headquarters of Found.ation, an EduChampions participant organisation. The meeting focused on the further organisation of the project’s collaborative work which aims to boost teaching staff’s edupreneur mentality. This mentality means injecting the entrepreneurial gene into the educational environment, the main focus of this project that involves 7 European countries (Spain, Italy, Portugal, Latvia, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey).
EduChampions – Fostering edupreneurship to embrace learners’ diversity is a project that is subsidised by the European Union and falls within the Erasmus+ framework. It began in December 2022 under Ikaslan Bizkaia’s coordination. The project foresees the creation of a series of infographics to share edupreneurs’ achievements as people who revitalise educational ecosystems with their entrepreneurship. It also sets out to develop a learning path aimed at teaching staff to boost educational entrepreneurship skills. These new approaches have been created with the particular aim of fostering diversity and equality of opportunities in vocational education and training.
After a first remote meeting at the end of 2022 when the starting pistol was fired on EduChampions, 11 representatives from the 8 participant organisations met in person for the first time in Athens. These representatives established the work schedule they will follow until November 2024. The project’s goals were discussed in the Greek capital, as were the methodologies that will be used throughout. Organisational goals to be achieved before the next meetings were also set. There will be another remote meeting in April this year to check the processes implemented in each country, and the next in-person gathering will take place in Tenerife, hosted by Disruptia, the other Spanish participating organisation.
